The app and its licence
Duoble is a macOS app that adds a visual effect as a compatible MacBook lid moves. For copies obtained through the App Store, the Apple Standard End User License Agreement applies. The application provider is identified in the App Store listing.
This page explains Duoble’s operation and support. It does not replace the Apple Standard EULA or limit rights you have under applicable consumer law.
Compatibility and access
Live effects require macOS 14 or later, an Apple silicon MacBook with a compatible lid-angle sensor, and an active, unmirrored built-in display. Support depends on the Mac model and macOS version; not every MacBook is guaranteed to be compatible. The manual preview does not require screen or sensor access.
Screen Recording permission is required for the live desktop effect. You control this permission in System Settings and can revoke it at any time. Duoble does not capture microphone or system audio.
Using the effect
The effect is cosmetic. It does not remap clicks to the transformed desktop or change macOS sleep, lock, or clamshell behaviour. Pause the effect before interacting with windows that appear moved or obscured.
Use Pause Duoble or Quit Duoble in the menu bar to stop the effect. After sleep or an inactive user session, enable it again when your desktop is ready. Protected content may appear blank. Duoble is not a screen recorder or a security tool.
Purchases and refunds
For an App Store purchase, the price and any applicable taxes are shown by Apple before you buy. Apple processes payment. Duoble does not currently offer subscriptions or in-app purchases.
Refunds for App Store purchases are handled through Apple’s purchase support and applicable consumer law. See Apple’s refund instructions.
Privacy and open-source components
The Duoble Privacy Policy explains local screen processing, preferences, and information you choose to send to support.
Third-party open-source components remain subject to their own licences. Their notices are available in Duoble under About → Acknowledgements.
Updates and support
Features and compatibility may change with app or operating-system updates. This page’s date will change when these terms are revised; mandatory consumer rights continue to apply.
